The left-back spent last season on loan from Barca at PSV but his campaign was ended early by a serious knee injury – that may sideline him until 2025. The Dutch giants opted out of a £8.45 million (€10m/$10.7m) transfer for the 23-year-old, but Spanish publication Marca claim the two teams may 'share' the payment of the player's transfer, while he continues his rehab at the Eredivisie side, or his deal at Barcelona could be terminated.

The report adds that the problem with the first option is Barcelona would have to assume the €4.2m amortization (£3.5m/$4.5m). The second option reportedly allows Barca to keep a percentage of a possible future sale
