Crystal Palace hero Wilfried Zaha could potentially seal a move to Chelsea during the January transfer window, according to journalist Simon Phillips.
The Lowdown: Zaha having superb season
The 29-year-old has been a wonderful servant for the Eagles, staying loyal many times and becoming arguably their best player in recent history.
Zaha is having a brilliant season for Palace under Patrick Vieira, scoring five goals in ten starts in the Premier League and acting as a talisman once again.
It could be that the Ivorian departs in the next window, however, given his contract expires in the summer of 2023.
The Latest: Chelsea move could happen
Speaking to Give Me Sport, Phillips admitted that Zaha joining Chelsea in January certainly isn’t out of the question:
“They considered him and spoke with his agent in the summer, so with that in mind there is certainly a chance they look to reignite talks.
“There are many variables though on that and it is dependent on other circumstances such as Hakim Ziyech’s future and whether Chelsea are going to try and bring in any other attackers.”

The Verdict: Would be a huge blow
Zaha has been endlessly linked with moves away from Palace over the years but he has stayed refreshingly loyal, now racking up 440 appearances for the club.

With his 30th birthday arriving next month, however, the winger may feel that now is his last chance for one big move in his career, while he is still in and around his peak.
It would be a massive blow for Vieira and anyone of a Palace persuasion if he did move on – he was recently hailed as ‘outstanding’ by Ally McCoist – and the hope is of course that he will again decide to stay put at Selhurst Park and see out his career there.
